6. Kawainui Marsh Environmental Restoration Project Kailua, Oahu
Geotechnical investigation and grading observation for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Hawaii DLNR restoration of the 830-acre Kawainui Marsh—Hawaii's largest remaining wetland and a Ramsar Wetland of International Importance. The project created restored habitat ponds for four endangered Hawaiian waterbirds: the Hawaiian stilt, coot, moorhen, and koloa duck. The $20+ million project incorporates advanced sustainability features including 1,211 solar panels providing nearly 50% of energy needs, water recovery systems, and methane gas reclamation. Opened in 2022, the facility increased production capacity to 100,000 barrels annually for Hawaii's longest-running craft brewery, founded in 1994.
15. Windward Community College Library & Learning Commons Kaneohe, Oahu
Geotechnical grading observation for the first LEED accredited library in the University of Hawaii System.
